Hof Baregg

Stefanie Weber, Head of Direct Sales, and Christian Weber, farmer and owner, in a short interview

What is behind the name Hof Baregg?

The Baregg farm has been run and managed by 8 generations since 1825. It comprises about 30 hectares of pastures, meadows and arable land (wheat, pure spelt) and 3.4 hectares of forest. Plus over 350 standard fruit trees. The herd of around 90 Galloway suckler cows take care of and graze our orchard from March to November.

Where is your product available?

Farm shop + show bakery at the market, dairy shop, village shop + speciality shop, "MiiniRegion" coop BL/BS.

Why is regionality important to you?

Because we want to know exactly what we are eating and where it comes from, that animals have been kept in a manner appropriate to their species and without concentrated feed or additives, that we are creating added value for our neighbours and farmers in the region and that we are doing something good for our bodies.

Where is your favourite place in (Klein)Basel?

Observing and enjoying on the Wettstein Bridge, the hustle and bustle in the flowing Rhine water or on land.
